Goods higher in quality are available for this purpose too and usually given to public figures or celebrities at big events. Most of the goodie bags that are handed out include fancy colognes and perfumes, as well as electronics and other expensive items. The businesses that offer these do so in order to get the famous persons to use, enjoy, endorse or photograph with their product.

In general, the goal of these is to bring about awareness of a brand. Sometimes they can also be used for building traffic, marketing research and getting new customers. Promotional products have been known for their application when it comes to safety education, dealer and distributor programs, non-profit organizations, employee service awards, incentive programs and more. Charities, schools and other such non-commercial organizations might use this as a way to collect money for a campaign or cause.

Items used will vary by company, objective, target audience and more. There are some who collect these items as a hobby. Not all such products are made for every day use. However, it is best when they are so that the user can be reminded frequently.
