With so many websites that can be put to use, it is clear that certain aspects are going to stand out more than others. I believe that a Long Island social media agency knows all too well the importance of many websites and how each of them can be utilized for the sake of creating awareness. While it is apparent that Facebook is going to be included, what are some of the biggest reasons for the decrease in usage by teenagers? There are quite a few worth taking into account.

An article on Business Insider spoke about the matter and it went into detail about specific answers that teenagers have. It's hard to believe - seeing as how Facebook is viewed by many as the greatest social media mogul out there - but there are some reasons which stand out and a Long Island social media agency can bring attention to them. For example, some users did not want to be on the same website as their mothers. It's understandable that teens would want a space that doesn't have parental figures looming over every word that is posted.

Another reason to consider has to be the ease of use of other websites by comparison to Facebook. To quite a few teens, according to the article, it takes more time to open a Facebook account and the actual content that is posted may not be seen as important or perhaps takes too long to sift through. This is partially why sites like Instagram have been able to reach a younger audience so effectively. Images and videos attract more attention than simple text, especially in regards to a younger demographic.

As a matter of fact, Instagram is more desired as a site for the sake of free time, seeing as how there are many visuals that can be found for fun. Facebook, by comparison, is seen as a more of a platform for communication but it seems as though even that function is being looked at less and less, which a Long Island social media agency would be able to tell you about. With all of this said, Facebook is clearly being used less and less by younger groups and it is easy to see why. This particular group desires privacy, for one, at least when it comes to their family members. There is also a need for ease of use and sometimes the text-heavy nature of Facebook can come across as too cumbersome. While this particular website is still looked at the utmost importance, it is apparent that there is a shift to consider as far as users are concerned.
